Grace á Dieu for Lookbook!
Nowhere better to find people willing to let you put up photos of their clothes than on a website that does just that.
I found Lookbook via Elle.com just before Christmas, kept me going through weeks and weeks of being snowed in. Its a brilliant idea, people from all over the world simply post photos of outfits, the site is rather strict regarding photos so everything looks fantastic. Its brilliant for inspiration, while there are certain users who have gained a strange sort of fame from the site (such as the wonderful Adam Gallagher) , some of the most interesting outfits come from more unknown users.
Having put a forum up on the site looking for people who were interested in being involved in outfit posts, just last night the emails started flooding in, giving me plenty of work to keep myself busy with.
Et voilá, Abbie.
When I opened her photos, Abbie's look instantly grabbed my attention, the same can be said for her style. Her blood red cropped hair made me a little nostalgic, having had something alike done just a year ago. Despite being a little difficult to maintain, I loved how much you almost had to incorporate your hair into whatever outfit you were planning. Abbie's piercings are really beautiful, despite there being more than one she keeps it simple. Although I'm most definitely a tattoo girl, and love my little wine bottle, these are lovely. Nowadays there are so many young people her age overdoing it to a ridiculous level, they end up looking like badly drawn anime characters. Abbie however looks effortlessly edgy.
I love how this layered look is put together, it may seem like a last minute jumble of bits and bobs but at a second glance it is very cleverly put together. The way the oversized t - shirt and shirt hang from Abbie's tiny frame is stunning. Although she adds alot of layers she prevents it from being too busy by incorporating alot of black.
Clearly this girl knows what shes talking about.
Before I begin rambling about the outfit, I think you will agree with me chéris when I comment on Abbie's GORGEOUS white smile, while the outfit incorporates really interesting pieces, she still manages to shine through.
Now, BOOTS, these moccasins are incredible. I've wanted a pair for ages but haven't a hope of being able to afford them. The colour goes fantastically with her hair, they are a huge statement piece to any outfit and are ridiculously comfortable. Her scarf also caught my eye, although still grieving over the loss of my silk vintage scarf, I am officially on the hunt for a new one and I love the print on this.
Abbie's use of layering in this outfit is genius. The effect of the tights under thigh highs under boots give her legs that could take on those of Ana Hickmann! The outfit is definitely rock chick but remains playful. I love the leather gilet over the flannel shirt. Flannel shirts being another of my current obsessions. I love how the colours of the outfit are echoed in the photo by the scenery.
