As the majority of us know all too well, being a student is certainly not the easiest lifestyle out there. We're a rather common species nowadays, try peeking in a dark corner of your local coffee shop to find ten of us sitting around one regular americano, managing to make it last for hours on end, or skulking around the sales rack of Topshop, dark rings gracing our eyes from staying up until 5am watching re-runs of Misfits and Skins.
Being an art student is certainly no different, more than often, we've got to make that leftover pizza stretch across the majority of the week so as to be able to afford that particular shade of red acrylic or extra large sheet of canvas.
Was Warhol expected to search through skips?
Well, a girl can dream. So I decided to base this post on the top things I'd grab instantly if I had any cash whatsoever.
Without a doubt I'll be starting off with an oversized tweed blazer from one of my many local vintage stores. I love the androgynous looks gracing magazine spreads and the catwalks at the moment. They work perfectly for a girl like myself who wasn't exactly blessed with goods to compete with the likes of the ever elegant Ms. Katie Price.
Cork is full of really amazing vintage shops, Retrograde, Turquoise Flamingo and Fellinis being my favourites. Definetely one of the best ways to spend a rainy afternoon killing time in the city.
Tom Ford in Cherry Lush £35
Reading the Sunday Times STYLE Magazine as I munch my Rice Krispies on a Sunday morning is a must for me, it just doesn't feel like a complete weekend without it. Yesterday they included a piece on the top five lipsticks of the moment. Red lipstick is going to be a massive beauty statement this spring, it gives a glamorous edge to any outfit, channel your inner Coco or Elizabeth Taylor chéries!

Kurt Geiger Leopard Print Loafers $140
Kurt Geiger and leopard print are two of my favourite things, much to my mother's disappointment, to her this particular print screams high class hooker as opposed to high class hipster. I am currently on the hunt for a new pair of shoes I can skip to college in (am still in mourning over my Schuh leather boots, after at least two years they finally gave up on me...RIP). However, these loafers are looking rather promising.
Daisy Lowe and Peaches Geldof for Agent Provocateur
I ADORE lingerie, no matter what génial evening gown, chic street ensemble or glittering new shoes you leave the house in, none of it will feel half as good without the right set of underwear. Not necessarily your typical, boring, nude pair either, one of my favourite looks this season is wearing a black bra under a crisp white shirt. I love how Agent Provocateur has brought burlesque out of the sex shop and made it uber chic and high fashion.
Isabella Blow was without a doubt one of the most influential people to have ever been involved in the fashion industry. She discovered household names such as Philip Treacy and Alexander McQueen. Her daring and often outrageous dress sense continues to put many of the big names in the fashion industry. Unfortunately her story portrays a darker side to the fashion industry, an industry full of eccentric yet often troubled characters. Her determination to escape the many personal tragedies that blighted her short life eventually lead to her dramatic suicide. This had a massive effect on one of her closest friends, the above mentioned Alexander McQueen, who following his own mother's death felt it was all too much to take and also committed suicide.
RIP.
January 2010 Edition of Elle
Carey Mulligan, girlfriend of deceased Hollywood star Heath Ledger, graces the cover of the first Elle edition of 2011. I can't wait to pick up this edition of the magazine, which being packed with articles always manages to last for days on end. They also provide a great source of photos for college moodboards.
Having recently taken photography as one of my six week modules at college, I really fell in love with the subject. I'm definetely considering majoring in it as I love fashion photography, people like Miki Barlok, Annie Leibowitz, Stephen Mysel and Nigel Barker are some of my favourite fashion photographers.I also love when artists incorporate photography into paintings á la Bauhaus. My father found an old film camera of his in the attic and gave it to me to play around with, unfortunately I'll have to do without the wonders of digital and buy some proper film, it'll hopefully be worth it.
